l Teacher Information

Professor Brian Bothner is the Director of the proteomics, metabolomics, and mass spectrometry facility in Montana State University, USA. He got his Master degree from Humboldt state university, in 1994 and PhD in Biochemistry from the university of Tennessee in 2002. He has been working in the field of mass spectrometry for over 25 years. His research group has been working on the development of activity-based chemical probes for labeling proteins and has extensive experience working with post-translational modification of proteins during redox stress and signalling cascades. He has also been investigating cellular reduction potential and effects on cellular chemistry for over 8 years. The “mass spectrometry core facility department” and “mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance department” has the key technology, instruments and database about the analysis of metabonomics. They also combine MS and NMR metabolomics to revel metal resistance and other mechanisms (bbothner@chemistry.montana.edu).
