选课截止时间:2025年6月30日,选课结束后不接受补退选申请


三、课程基本信息

授课教师:周三和 教授

教师简介:周三和获得西雅图华盛顿大学博士学位,任台湾中兴大学讲座教授。他利用核磁共振发现了不同于WC碱基配对稳定核酸结构。随后,他结合X射线、核磁共振和小角X射线散射技术,研究与核苷类第二信使分子结合相关的多域蛋白质。他撰写了100多篇研究论文,被引用累计超过4000次

课程简介:

批判性思維(Critical Thinking)

The "Critical Thinking" course is important for developing analytical skills and develping independent thought of students. It teaches them how to evaluate information, identify biases, and construct logical arguments. By thinking from different perspectives, students can enhance their problem-solving capabilities and then make informed decisions. In this class, we shall encourage skepticism and curiosity, empowering students to critically question assumptions and assess evidence. I will also bring some important life science issues in the class so that the students can learn how to understand these issues and make careful reasoning. In this world filled with incorrect information, the ability to think critically is vital for student's future success. Ultimately, it will equip individuals with tools necessary to face complex issues and learn independent thought capability.

核酸疫苗研发及应用(mRNA vaccine and its applications):

mRNA vaccines represent a groundbreaking approach in immunization, utilizing messenger RNA to instruct cells to produce a protein of microorganisms, thereby prompting an immune response. This technology has already played a crucial role in the rapid development of COVID-19 vaccines, showcasing its ability to respond quickly to emerging pathogens and help save humans' lifes. Beyond COVID-19, mRNA vaccines also hold promise for a wide range of diseases, including influenza, Zika, and even cancer, due to their adaptability and efficiency. Their success demonstrates a significant advancement in vaccine technology, potentially revolutionizing the way we do to prevent infectious diseases and to treat cancers and other dangerous diseases.


四、成绩记载及学分认定

成绩记载:所修课程成绩均如实记入学生学籍档案,不参与GPA计算。因每学期国际课程开设的不确定性,修读课程出现不及格的情况,不保证有重修机会。

学分认定:完成课程学习且考核合格的学生,可获得相应通识课程或国际课程学分。学生可对照本专业人才培养方案,依据《华中农业大学本科生学分认定和转换管理办法》的规定,申请学分认定或转换。
